La Tee Da! Wicks, Wick
and Burner Assembly
Information regarding La Tee Da wicks
and wick and burner assemblies, to help you determine which wick is
the right wick for your La Tee Da fragrance lamp, as well as all
other fragrance lamps on the market today. The La Tee Da
wicks you see on our "Replacement Pieces" page also
fit Scentier fragrance lamps, Lampe Avenue fragrance burners, Lampe
Berger, and all other aroma/fragrance lamps.
Wick Removal: Wicks are connected to the scaloped burner stone
thru the metal base. The burner stone is seated on the metal base
and held in place by the locking retainer wire fitted across the top
of the burner stone. Do Not handle the retainer wire. Some wicks fit
snugly into the metal bezel on the neck of the fragrance lamp, some
fit loosely. Snug or loose, either is o k. When removing wicks from lamps, always grip the
wick assembly by the metal base. Never grip the burner stone and pull up to remove
your wick assembly. Wicks can separate from the burner stone by
gripping the stone and pulling upward. Grip the metal base using
your finger nails or finger tips, and carefully remove the wick
assembly from the bezel of the lamp. See image 1 below. Also, use the metal
base when installing the wick. Use your finger nails or your finger
tips to push the metal base of the wick into the bezel.
Never press down on the burner stone when installing a wick and
burner assembly into the bezel of the fragrance lamp.
Wicks that fit snugly in the bezel may need to be gently pried
up to remove. Use a thin object (knife) to gently pry the metal base
upward and out from the bezel. Do not grip the burner stone and pull
up.
Choose the Right Wick:
To choose the right wick, you need to measure. Here's
how..........Use a pencil or other narrow object. Insert the pencil
into the bezel top (see image 3)
down to the bottom of your effusion lamp. Place your thumb on the
pencil where the pencil meets the the bezel top. Remove the pencil.
Measure the distance from the tip of the pencil to your thumb. This
is your measured length. Return to the "Replacement Pieces" page
(menu on the left) and compare your measured length, to the
measured length of the wick assemblies listed on the page.
Measurements you see on the Replacement Pieces page are taken by
measuring the distance from underside of the metal base to the
bottom tip of the wick. See image
2. Your measurements do not have to be precise, a quarter
inch or so more or less will not matter. If
you are replacing the wick and burner assembly on your La Tee Da
mini
lamp, that's easy. Wicks for La Tee Da mini's, as well as all other
mini's are one size only. There is nothing for you to measure.
How do I know if my fragrance lamp is
a mini fragrance lamp, or a full size fragrance lamp? The bezel top
(see image 3) of the mini
fragrance lamp has a 3/8 inch inside diamiter.
The full size lamp has a 1/2 inch
inside diamiter.
